NBA Power Rankings - February 12th

NBA Power Rankings - February 12th
It has already been a LONG season... And it's about that time we revisit how the league is stacking up.
There are a few of these rankings I'm thrilled about! The others?... (See Lakers Write-Up)

Find your team and give it a good read! (Unless your team is the Lakers, then grab a tub of ice cream and throw on a good movie...)

Power Rankings
1. Golden State Warriors -
The last time I wrote these rankings, Warrior fans were panicking that Draymond and Durant couldn't get along. Winning is the greatest deodorant.
2. Milwaukee Bucks +3
It's amazing to see the Greek Freak's progression as he is now in the MVP discussion and could possibly lead his team to a finals... I still hate putting Eastern Conference teams high on my list... I need proof in the playoffs that the East is actually legit.
3. Denver Nuggets +11
Jokic is developing faster than we ever thought he would and has taken it to another level. This team is clicking and has just enough veteran leadership to be dangerous.
4. Toronto Raptors -2
Again, I have this fear of watching an Eastern Conference team that we think is a legit contender getting pummeled by Golden State in 4 or 5 games... Leonard has been worth the price of admission, but how far can this team go in the playoffs? The positive? Looks like LeBron may not be in their way of a title because it's tough to stop a team from your couch...
5. Oklahoma City Thunder +6
Good for Westbrook. Good for George. They have absolutely proved me wrong and I will admit it, they are title contenders just as much as any other team in this league except for Golden State... The problem for the Thunder is the way I finished my pervious sentence, in that they'll have to get through Golden State.
6. Portland Trailblazers +1
I am done sleeping on this team. They are so tough and grind out wins and THAT is what matters in the playoffs. I was hoping they would add at the deadline so I could put them above the Thunder, but even with their current lineup they are a threat to go deep into the postseason.
7. Boston Celtics -1
DO. NOT. PANIC.
I swear if we write off one more Boston team and they go on to win a title, the Yankee fan in me will punch a hole in the wall... So, anyway not saying I'm salty... But Boston teams have AMAZING coaching and that accompanied with flexible players that can be talented and disciplined enough to adjust mid-game is DANGEROUS. They haven't earned the spot the Bucks and Raptors are in on these rankings, but as long as you make the postseason, the regular season is ancient history with a coach like this. You can bet I'll be picking them to win the East on my Postseason Predictions... HOT TAKE!
8. Philadelphia 76ers -5
How is The Process going? They trusted it until they added Jimmy Butler. A lot of people loved the addition of Jimmy Butler, but frankly he's going to cost mullah and seems to be a distraction off the court. I love Embiid and Simmons but I just don't have enough faith in them to play consistently well to make it past Boston, Milwaukee or Toronto.
9. Indiana Pacers +3
I wish we could see this team make a postseason run with Oladipo... They are still playing great without him, but part of that is the fact they get an Eastern Conference-heavy schedule. They'll make the playoffs, but what will they do with it?
10. Utah Jazz +7
I'm still a huge fan of this team, and I wish we could see how their record would be playing in the Eastern Conference. But, they are in the Wild Wild West, and you bet it gets wild in the playoffs... I love Rubio, Mitchell, and Gobert, but it's going to be a tough road through the West.
11. Houston Rockets -3
James Harden is good at scoring points. Chris Paul looks like he aged 10 years since the last postseason. Good luck in the postseason with a one-man wrecking crew if his name ISN'T LeBron... Oh LeBron, we'll deal with you later...
12. San Antonio Spurs +4
What a guy Popovich is. We write him off and the team STILL finds a way to be a postseason team. Aldridge has taken to the system like a fish to water. DeRozan is amazing playing both ways for this team. A well coached team is always a dangerous team.
13. Brooklyn Nets +12
Speaking of well coached teams... Kenny Atkinson has been killing it with this team! The East is always open if you want to take a playoff spot and give up a lottery year and this team has played very well.
14. Sacramento Kings +5
They have definitely overperformed this season to this point. The question everyone is asking is: How long can this continue?... It is a TOUGH road to the playoffs, let alone through the playoffs in the Western Conference.
15. Detroit Pistons -6
I'm disappointed. The East is up for grabs and the Pistons still can't get their act together. You have a great coach mixed with young and veteran talent, and you can't win in the East? Keep finishing in the middle of pack and you will STAY in the middle of the pack the way the NBA is built...
16. Dallas Mavericks +6
Doncic is THE MAN! And I can't wait for him to win Rookie of the Year so I can rub it in to Ben... They are looking mighty fearsome already rolling into next season and they still have cap space to even add more.
17. Charlotte Hornets +3
What are we hoping for here? They don't have a superstar talent and are barely making it into the Eastern Conference playoffs... They need to change it up and QUICK.
18. Los Angeles Clippers -3
They have fallen of the page a bit of recent. But hey, they're in the postseason as of right now and the Lakers ain't...
19. Los Angeles Lakers -15
Oh herrrrreeee weeeee go (in Stewie Griffin's voice)… Look, anything less than the playoffs would be a disappointment. But making it as an 8th seed and getting swept by Golden State doesn't help you in the least bit in the pursuit for a ring. What an 8th seed squeak-in playoff spot would serve as is a band-aid for Lakers fans so they can feel like this season wasn't a total waste of time... Remember, LeBron's priority going to LA was NOT basketball, and you can read my article prior to his free agency decision by clicking here. It'll remind you to have perspective on why the Lakers are the way they are right now...
20. New Orleans Pelicans -10
Anthony Davis is good at basketball. His supporting cast is not as good. Not even close. The way the league is designed, he needs a completely solid team around him OR a superstar to share the workload and try to keep him as healthy as possible. He'll get his opportunity next season, but for now we'll just sit hear and wait...And wait...
21. Minnesota Timberwolves -3
What isn't clicking here? KAT and Wiggins are so so so so so so so talented... There's gotta be something that clicks soon or else they'll have to cut their losses and rebuild this from the ground up.
22. Miami Heat +1
They made some weird trades at the deadline but were able to dump a bad Tyler Johnson contract and that's about the only positive they have right now.
23. Washington Wizards +1
Are they tanking or not? It's like they almost want a top pick. But don't want to fully stink.
24. Orlando Magic -3
Is this team moving to Vegas, Seattle, St. Louis... Anywhere else?...
25. Memphis Grizzlies -12
Is this team moving to Vegas, Seattle, St. Louis.... Anywhere else?... Oh yeah, they have some good young talent that needs time to develop.
26. Atlanta Hawks +3
They're currently losing the Zion lottery, but I'm a huge fan of RJ Barrett and they might be winning that lottery.
27. Chicago Bulls -1
What I said above but they seemed reallllllllyyyyy confused on what direction they're going by taking on the contract of Otto Porter Jr.
28. Cleveland Cavaliers +2
No one could ever be LeBron... But if you're Cleveland, you might as well lose out and hope history repeats itself.
29. Phoenix Suns -2
Disappointment. They already have a lot of young talent and yet they can't figure it out. BUT, I will be really excited about this team when they add Zion or Barrett... Trust the Process.
30. New York Knicks -2
They are the worst team in Knicks history. Let that set in. Now, they do have a bunch of cap room, but what makes you think that means they'll automatically get big name free agents. WAKE UP KNICKS FANS, THE NETS ARE KICKING YOUR BUTT.
