MLB April Round Up

MLB April Round Up
by Alex "Moose" Strizak

Teams on the Upswing
Los Angeles Dodgers +10
The Dodgers are proving me wrong once again... Or is the National League the one that is proving me wrong?...Every time I think someone is going to step up in the NL, the Dodgers depth shows its strength. For now, the back-to-back NL Champs don't look to have many worries...
Minnesota Twins +10
The Twinkies are looking sweeeeet finally. Even though Byron Buxton continues to struggle, the rest of the young talent has stepped up in what is a very uncompetitive divisional race that's only against one team.
Tampa Bay Rays +8
They definitely won last year's trade deadline. And now, they're looking to show off all the new talent they've brought in to go with the diamond in the rough they always find (this year, it looks to be Yandy Diaz).

Teams on the Downswing
Boston Red Sox -7
What sucks for Boston is that they are mostly healthy. They don't really have an excuse for why they aren't playing well, and meanwhile the scrappy Yankees and Rays continue to find ways to win ballgames... They're not in full-blown panic mode yet, but it's starting to get close.
Washington Nationals -8
Their starting pitching has been solid and the young talent has been producing. However, it's not transitioning into wins... I still believe in this team, but it doesn't look like it'll be as easy for them as I thought...
Cincinatti Reds -10
The starting pitching doesn't look as improved as we thought it might. The lineup is struggling and I don't see how they'll actually be a Wild Card threat like I thought they could be.

Power Rankings - Top 5
1. New York Yankees -
They're winning with almost their entire starting lineup on the shelf. If we're considering them a playoff threat right now, imagine what they could be if they can get guys out of the training room onto the field!
2. Houston Astros +1
They're deep, and the addition of Osuna to their bullpen shows just how dangerous they are.
3. Los Angeles Dodgers +10
You can read the trending up, but I might have to eat my words.
4. Tampa Bay Rays +8
What a great way for the Rays to start the year. Let's see how far they can ride this successful streak they're on.
5. Cleveland Indians -
They're playing well without Lindor, and will be all the more dangerous with him.
